I am a parent at Suncoast Christian College, Woombye, Qld, AUSTRALIA. I am a trained registered nurse (currently non-practicing) with the privilege of being an at-home hands-on mum since just before the birth of my boy-girl twins in 2002.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This site is\u00a0was developed as I journeyed with parents on campus around the Parent Resource Bookstore I ran in our school\/church cafe. In chatting<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>with a wide cross-section of parents & teachers I discovered a consistent need for values-based information that is clear, concise & practical & answers the many-pronged questions relating to sex education & healthy sexuality. I have had the privilege of time to invest<\/a>\u00a0in reading a wide variety of related resource & gathering the treasures from many sources & fashioning it into the valuable info you now have access to on this site.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

PLEASE NOTE<\/span>: I by no means consider myself an expert in the information I present on this site. I present this information humbly & thoughtfully as a result of my own need to seek out information & answers regarding senstive topics that aren’t readily publicly accessible & available. My desperation & passion is enhanced as I am mindful that the clock is racing toward the day our kids will be in their Teen years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The topics target the Tween years (8-12 y.o.) in preparing both you & your child to launch more confidently into the Teen\/adolecent years.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This site is based on the belief that parents are capable of being effective sex educators\"\"<\/a><\/span>; they just need some advice<\/span>, encouragement<\/span>, information<\/span>, & help<\/span> to get there. (S & B Jones of God’s Design for Sex Series).\u00a0This site should help you in the almighty task of\u00a0stepping into the role as Primary educator\"\"<\/a> of your child’s health regarding sexuality.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0The most effective tool I have found is contained within The Heart of the Matter Mini programs\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span> which I have been running (independently of the school) as pilot groups over the past year within my kids peer groups at school, in the form of\u00a0GIRLZ chat\"\"<\/a>\u00a0and BOYZ CHAT groups. These groups have been wildly successful and well-received by both students and parents. I am currently completing a DIPLOMA of Youth Work and enquring about completing a certificate\"\"<\/a> IV in Training & Assessment in order to move toward being qualified to run educational groups\u00a0for both kids and their parents. My biggest stumbling block at present lies in the fact that at present I am merely a mum with a passion to reach a generation in an area that’s very difficult to access, due to red tape and legal restrictions in working with school students.\u00a0STAY TUNED\u00a0to courses\"\"<\/a> operating in your local community ASAP!!!<\/p>\n
